Alastair Smith

As a solicitor in private practice, Alastair advised investors, entrepreneurs and companies on fundraisings and general corporate, commercial and regulatory matters. He also previously worked as an investment manager with Scottish Enterprise and was recruited to help establish the predecessor to the North East Fund, where he was portfolio manager and company secretary. Alastair was appointed to the Board of The North East Fund in 2019 and has particular focus on legal, compliance and operational matters as well as working with the fund managers and TNEFL’s stakeholders to ensure that the project achieves its objectives
